I am an enthusiastic Social Studies educator with a passion for Civics, Law related education, and US History who has taught her entire career in Whatcom County located in Washington State. Both of my degrees are in History with a emphasis in my master's work on constitutional studies. I have taught 23 years in public high school classrooms in both rural and urban settings. I currently teach in a public alternative school which serves approximately 200 students grades 9-12 who need a non-traditional school structure for their learning.
For this school year, I live in Falls Church, Virginia and work at the Library of Congress as their Civics Teacher in Residence in the Learning and Innovation Office. In this position I look for engaging primary sources that can be used to support Civics and Social Studies instruction in the K-12 classroom.
After this year, I will return to the Bellingham School District to teach at Options High School.
