A very nice worksheet and a shame the rating's been reduced because of PatrickTrowbridge's definition of an equation. They ARE equations. An equation is "A statement that the values of two mathematical expressions are equal". They just happen to be formulae too .

Superb resource ! I am struggling to explain this to an S3 Credit class (Scotland). I used a technique called 'opposite of BODMAS' (roughly speaking !), but only some understood that. This sets it out very clearly. I have used a similar technique to yours to explain how to solve things like 2x + 3 = 11'. Thanks for a great resource !
