About This Lesson
An activity to find different ways of adding, subtracting and multiplying to reach a target number. Click to choose the operation, then drag a number up from the numberline to apply your calculation. If students miss the target, they have to adjust with another calculation until they succeed. When the target is reached, a report screen shows the steps taken. A great opportunity to practice chunking, to make adding (or subtracting) quicker, and to look at the strategies students use.
Very useful as the teacher can set the target nu,ber according to the ability of the children. There is also the option to use different operations, which also adds further challenge.
