About This Lesson

multiplication tables; multiplying;A quick activity (once introduced) to provide a different times table variation. A bank of challenges/unbroken codes can be built up by the students and dipped into to solve in free moments or for fast finishers etc. Self differentiating and offering choice as students can choose single words or complex sentences to transform into code or short/long challenges to decode. Aligned with Common Core State Standard: 3.OA.7 Operations and Algebraic Thinking: Multiple and divide within 100.

Standards

Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
