About This Lesson
Finding factors of numbers using multilink cubes.Students take any number of cubes and see how many rectangles (including squares!) that they can make. We then discuss that the lengths of the sides are factors of the number of cubes. If you can only make
This is a great way to get students to investigate factors through the construction of rectangles. It allows them to explore prime numbers too. This is ideal for lower ability students, you could start the lesson with this investigation and then extend it by asking them to list factors without the multi-link cubes. Thank you for sharing.
