About This Lesson

Sometimes multiplication and division is difficult. This is a group activity using mixed abilities. Children need to have a method of multiplication and division demonstrated on PowerPoint; then in groups; share out the division tasks to find out the value of valuable treasure objects. Use calculators; or multiply to find out the value of four treasure chests. Choose a chest they can leave a treasure island with. As a group; discuss their role in finding out the values of the treasure. This is a team building and a rather exciting activity.
