About This Lesson

A set of two-step riddles to be used to teach the inverse between doubles and halves.I would suggest printing them out on different colors to allow the children to self assess their own ability and try harder ones if they want to challenge themselves! Aligned with Common Core State Standards: 3.OA.1, Operations and Algebraic Thinking.

I can see using this with middle school students learning to write algebraic equations and solve them. Very nice - thank you!

Not only is this great for introducing solving equations in pre-algebra, as well as a basic algebra review, your activity gave me an idea for developing a similar activity using exponents for my Algebra 2 students! Hopefully, I will get it done and posted before the end of the summer! This interactive activity could easily be converted to an "I have . . . / Who has . . . ?" format as well as a "BINGO" or "Tic Tack Toe" game! :) Thanks for reminding us to keep math practice fun - students don't mind doing repeated practice when it's in a game or team competition format!
