About This Lesson
Lots and lots of different shapes and pictures can be made using pentominoes. Students color in the 12 pentominoes; cut them out and try to fit them into the blank shape or picture on the sheet (Fitting them into the rectangles and squares is quite diffic
This is a really good problem solving activity. I started by explaining what a pentomino is and then let the learners try to generate all 12, then I gave them the shapes to fit the pentominoes into. From time to time, I flashed the solutions up on the board to help them along.
