Properties of shapes activity

GUESS the shape...(SMART Board file)As the shape is revealed; students must discuss the possblities that the shape could be. Can they get all possibilities..... when can they be certain? This activity enforced reasoning for properties of different polygons. Can be done in pairs; as a quiz; using individual whiteboards. Can be used as a starter or a wrap up. Possible questions to ask along the way: What type of angle is this? How do you know? What are parallel lines? Regular / irregular shapes..The diference between a trapezium and a parallelogram.
