Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one- and two-step word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
Identify arithmetic patterns (including patterns in the addition table or multiplication table), and explain them using properties of operations.

Great set of slides for introducing investigations and problem solving. Encourages paired/group discussion and reasoning which is often hard to capture for APP.

I like this resource. It made me think about why with the patterns and I love numbers. Can't wait to try it out.
