About This Lesson

This PowerPoint guides students through an investigation on the energy content in various food samples.It gets students to : define what a fuel is; describe the characteristics of a good fuel; describe the chemical composition of a good fuel (hydrocarbons) and also calculate the energy content of something which is burnt (using the idea of specific heat capacity of water).It was used to teach fuels and hydrocarbons in a PRU setting.
