Not sure what planet anyone is on who would give this 1 star. Revolutionary resources? If anyone has seen one let me know. Great simple resource that students of all ability can use. Revolutionary no, Excellent yes.
I agree, this is a cracking idea - simple and really effective. Its got HOTS written all over it by challenging the pupils to stretch themselves rather than just do whatever the teacher comes up with. Good work Nottcl (and Mr Barton for highlighting it to us)
I think this is an excellent resource, it requires students to really understand the process of solving equations by asking them to form some with specific answers. It is simple to differentiate as you can set different criteria for what the equations should contain e.g. one step, unknowns on both sides. This would be an engaging resource to use as a main activity or in a revision lesson on solving equations. You could then get students to rub out the numbers in their grid, swap with a partner and complete the cross number by solving the equations! Thank you for sharing.
I'm trying to download it and this keeps popping up. I haven't seen it yet so I can't rate it fairly.
Well I think this is a good resource, a different way of assessing the ability to create and solve equations rather than just chucking a text book of 100 questions at them! Keep up the good work Mr B!
