About This Lesson

The first Grab and Group is a game - 2 children take turns to 'grab' a handful of counters; and group them into 2s; 3s; 4s; 5s. They check the box if they can be grouped without any counters left over and put a cross if they can't. The winner is the player with the most ticks. Gets chidren thinking about grouping and dividing different amounts. Can be differentiated with more counters. The second Grab and Group with remainders does the same; but this time the chidlren write how many groups they make; and whether there are remainders.
