About This Lesson

This lesson is predominantly guided practice intended to help students to acquire the ability to use a tape diagram for ratio problems involving a total. Students will receive a worksheet with incomplete tape diagrams that they will complete while watching the animations and listening to the teacher explanations. Students will have a lot of guidance in this lesson with a slow release to practice on their own. A practice lesson follows. Aligned with Common Core State Standard: 6.RP.3

Nice second lesson for ratio. Fun Jelly Belly activity will be engaging to 6th graders.
