About This Lesson
This lesson frames the rise of Alexander the Great in terms of gaining and maintaining power. The lesson contains two reading passages. The first outlines the childhood and military conquests of Alexander. The second outlines how Alexander used Greek culture to placate his people and maintain power over his kingdom. Students work with a partner to answer questions and fill out graphic organizers. Once both are completed, students will respond to information presented on Alexander's hypothetical Facebook news-feed.
Great resource. Good activities and scaffolding for struggling learners. Love the incorporation of social media in the assignments.
