About This Lesson

This activity has students look at selected articles from the English Bill of Rights AND selected Amendments from the US Bill of Rights and compare their similarities and differences. It then asks students to act as if they are the ghost of Henry VIII talking to the ghosts of Mary I, Elizabeth I, James I, and Charles I. What would he say to them about the English Civil War and the Bill of Rights that resulted? And students then need to write what those 4 monarchs would say back to Henry VIII.
