About This Lesson
In this resource, students will "brainstorm" words related to a topic and record on a semantic map. The objective is for students to produce the meaning of words. Common Core State Standards addressed: L.K.4 - Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words and phrases based on kindergarten reading and content. L.1.4 - Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words and phrases based on grade 1 reading and content, choosing flexibly from an array of strategies.
