About This Lesson

Students will be asked to brainstorm ideas for infrastructure projects that could improve GDP for a developing nation. They should base their ideas on the factors that influence GDP, and try to be as creative as possible. They will be asked to create a persuasive paragraph at the close of the lesson which can be used as assessment. Learning Objective: Students will be able to explain how a specific factor contributes to a country’s GDP and predict how a change in this factor can increase GDP in that country. Aligned to Common Core State Standards: RH.6-8.7, WHST.6-8.1, WHST.6-8.9, WHST.6-8.10
