About This Lesson

UPDATED TO REFLECT COMMENTS. I wrote this article to make the Middle Ages more interesting for students while not denying them some real history. It starts with the fall of Rome and development of manorialism and feudalism, then talks about the Byzantine height under Justinian and its fall to the Muslims, and ends with the Crusades. Also includes a little on the Catholic Church. It does use colloquial and slang language and a few curse words to make kids laugh and remember the history, so it's not for everyone.

Surely there's a way to make history interesting without foul language and sarcasm. Clean-up required before using this resource.

While I agree, some clean-up has to be done before passing this on to students, I kind of love this. Thanks!

Good way to introduce kids--keep it interesting! Still would love an activity to go with it but great reading for kids.
