About This Lesson
Students will examine the artistic characteristics of Madonna and Child with Saints; explain the roles of and relationship between patrons and artists during the Renaissance; and adopt the perspective of a Renaissance patron and write a contract including descriptive details about the commissioned painting’s subject matter, materials, and appearance.
