About This Lesson

Students will view the Tea Bowl by Yabe Makoto as a metaphor for how cultures can remain rooted in the past while adapting to modern changes. After reading about the history of this bowl and the artist who created it, students will describe and illustrate one aspect of how traditions have changed over time and how they have stayed the same.

This is a good art resource, but not suitable for ELA.
