About This Lesson

http://www.freemathvideos.com In this video series I will show you how to solve a quadratic by factoring when a is greater than one and we cannot factor it out. We will use a couple of factoring techniques called the ac method, box method, as well as guess and check. When we have an a that is greater than one we have a couple of extra steps and sense of difficulty in compared to factoring when a is equal to one. We can always check our answer by applying foil to make sure we are not changing the value of the equation but rather just rewriting in terms of it's factors. We will then use the zero product property and inverse operations to find the values of x that make the equation true.
