About This Lesson

This lesson was originally developed to help my lower-level students answer text-dependent questions. I found that it not only helped my lower students, it helped all my students understand the importance of supporting their answers with textual evidence. Using comic strips seemed to help students feel more confident in pulling textual evidence for support. Once they mastered using the comic strips, they were more willing to find relevant textual evidence to support literary analysis.
