About This Lesson
This unit about the atmosphere includes five demonstrations and an activity for students to show how Earth's atmosphere filters or distorts electromagnetic radiation. Through a series of brief demonstrations given by the teacher, students observe some of the problems inherent in using astronomical telescopes on Earth's surface. A reproducible student worksheet is included.
