About This Lesson

One of the most studied hazards of space travel is the radiation environment. Students plot how the radiation environment changes for a person living in Denver, on the International Space Station, on the moon, and on a journey to Mars and back. Students calculate the total radiation dosage by computing the area under the respective curves. A one-page teacher guide accompanies the one-page assignment.
