About This Lesson

This handout gives students a summary of 6 major problems the British caused in India (3 political, 3 economic) and has students brainstorm their own solutions and compare them to Gandhi and Nehru's solutions. The back of the handout is an explanation of Gandhi's civil disobedience (non-cooperation/passive resistance) theory with a questions asking if students think it would work. The alternate one simply is missing the sections for their own solutions to the problems faced by Indians to save time.
