About This Lesson
I use this prior to my Martin Luther King Jr. unit. Many of the things they believe about the Civil Rights Movement, Rosa Parks particularly, are media constructions and not based in fact. It is far more interesting to know the true stories.
The examples of various texts used here are useful for teaching aspects such as audience and purpose.
