About This Lesson

Children need to learn how to assess themselves and their learning. This is a set of kid friendly rubrics that allow kindergarteners to know where they are on 3 math skills. I enlarge the rubrics on 11"x17" cardstock and laminate them. The rubric is scored 1-4 with 3 being proficient. I have a super hero theme going all year in my classroom, so getting to a 4 means they have made it to "super hero" or exceeded the standard. What five year old doesn't want to be super!

I agree that self-assessment is such an important skill for students to learn and I like how this resource has them starting this in kindergarten! A great resource to add to data binders. Thanks for sharing.
