About This Lesson

This is a center activity that contains pictures of six common trees and leaves found in the midwest. Copy six sets of cards on cardstock paper, laminate and cut out. Each student gets three cards. The remaining cards are placed in a draw pile. Students should first look to see if there are any pairs in their hands. Pairs can either be two trees or leaves the same, or a tree and same leaf. Students take turns asking others in the group for a card they need to make a pair. If the child asked doesn't have the card, he says, "Go Fish", and the child takes a card from the draw pile.
