About This Lesson

This multi-part lesson on the spread of infectious diseases can be used in conjunction with the viewing of the movie Outbreak, or can be used independently from the film by just using the provided pre-lesson document, CDC videos, and selected assignment suggestions.

Upon completion of this lesson, students will understand the path that a virus could take from a host animal to its first human victims and from there to an epidemic that could destroy an entire community.

Nice pre-reading lesson about

Nice pre-reading lesson about viruses, how they infect cells, how they spread, a few specifics including Hanta virus. Or could be used as makeup work for students who miss class. I plan to take some of the information and turn it into a more visual presentation.
