About This Lesson
In World Mountains, students review skills in using maps and globes and then apply those skills to learning about major mountains and mountain ranges. They explore the Himalayas and Urals in Asia; the Atlas Mountains in Africa; the Andes in South America; the Appalachians and Rockies in North America; and the Alps and Caucasus in Europe. Students also study the tallest mountains on each continent.
This unit includes a Student Reader and Teacher Guide, providing Guided Reading Supports and the following Additional Activities: Cool Facts About World Mountains; domain vocabulary questions; and a Unit Assessment.
