About This Lesson
This 2nd grade activity entitled "The Rocks We See" has students observe and explain rocks by size, texture, and color. Students will write what they learned about rocks in their journals. Students will then be given materials to create their own "undiscovered" rock based off what they have learned about the characteristics of rocks. Students will also read an article on rocks and answer questions.
