About This Lesson
Attached is the mechanical blue-print for the Bottle Cap Tool. We purchase Hexagon aluminum stock and have the students drill the circular hole pattern using a manual indexing super spacer. They drill the center hole and bore it to size on the engine lathes and face both sides. This would also be a good project to use when teaching conversational CNC programming; drill circular hole pattern, change tools to an end-mill and circular pocket clear the center out.
