About This Lesson
This is a two-week (ten days) unit that introduces beginning choir students to music score reading, including how to read music. Each lesson builds on the previous lesson and aims to give students a visual and foundational understanding of how to read music. But like learning another language, fluency takes time and consistent practice so this unit plan can be easily expanded to give students more time to understand and apply their learning. Authentic assessments will be made by giving students an opportunity to demonstrate their learning by applying their reading skills during class rehearsals.
