About This Lesson

Policymakers face multiple choices when considering how to solve today’s most pressing issues. Using one of Close Up’s Controversial Issues in the News materials, students will simulate the process policymakers endure to develop a deeper understanding of multiple perspectives on an issue and consider the potential advantages and pitfalls of those choices.
