About This Lesson
In this simple, collaborative art activity, students will explore the question: What is a first responder and how do they help people in times of need?
Students will be provided step-by-step instructions to create a first responder badge using materials at home. They are encouraged to brainstorm a list of first responders in their own community and think of words, numbers, or symbols that represent these individuals which they can include in their design. Students can then wear their badge in honor of these first responders that help their communities in times of need.
