About This Lesson

During this lesson students will gain a deeper understanding of the history of election policy in the United States. Students will read a short summary of United States election policy and examine two graphs to consider how changes to election laws have impacted the electorate and our government. Students will answer a series of questions in small groups and finish with an exit ticket to demonstrate their understanding.

This lesson was originally created in conjunction with the Edward M. Kennedy Institute's award winning Senate Immersion Module but can now be used as an independent lesson in your classroom!
