My name is Kevin O'Donnell and I have worked as a School Psychologist for Prince George’s County Public Schools in Prince George's County, Maryland since August, 2013. I have worked at six public elementary schools and five public high schools throughout Prince George’s County over the past 12 years. I have worked, in a variety of capacities, with students with and without disabilities or impairments (e.g., SPED or 504 Plan initial evaluations and reevaluations, counseling, executive functioning and social skills-building, crisis interventions) for grades spanning Kindergarten through the 12th grade. I have been an active member of several committees organized and run by School Psychologists within the Office of Psychological Services for Prince George's County Public Schools (e.g, Behavior Management Committee, Autism Committee, Educator and Family Collaborative Committee, Collegial Support Committee, Practicum Supervision Committee). Presently, I am Chairperson of the Website Design Committee and am primarily responsible for making edits and changes to the external Office of Psychological Services website. Two of my primary areas of interest are the identification of and use of evidence-based interventions and strategies to improve the reading skills of students with reading disorders (e.g., dyslexia), and fostering collaborations between teachers/school personnel and parents/guardians with regard to the use of evidence-based, behavior management interventions/strategies in both home and school settings. Prior to working as a School Psychologist, I worked as a Research Associate for an employee-owned, federal contractor in Rockville, Maryland for 10 years. I worked on numerous contracts, primarily for the U.S. Departments of Education and Health and Human Services. I am married with a 17-year-old son.
