Dr. Tina M. Manus, PhD is an English teacher and Department Head working at Bullard Havens Technical High School, in Bridgeport. with 19 years as an educator, Tina is dedicated to improving teacher quality, as well designing classroom experiences that provide equity and access for all students. Currently, she is a Teacher Leader with educators for Excellence and serves as the Education Committee Chairwoman for the Greater Bridgeport NAACP. Tina has published op-eds regarding current education policies at the local, state, and national levels. In 2014, she was named a National Fellow for America Achieves and was a 2015 Finalist for the US Department of Education Teaching Ambassador Fellowship. Tina has also been recognized as a Distinguished Mentor, author, and reviewer for the SBAC Digital Library. She serves on the ACT CT Leadership Council and was a member of the Tri-state Consortium developing metrics for the School Day SAT. In 2013, she was invited to participate as part of the CT Dream Team, sponsored by the CT State Department of Education. She was also a member of the CT State Department's K-2 Writing Assessment Advisory Committee. In 2015, Tina was elected to municipal office and remains politically active supporting education initiatives at the local, state, and municipal levels.
