About This Webinar

Join SubjectToClimate and CFR Education from the Council on Foreign Relations for an inspiring session designed to provide educators with the tools and resources to seamlessly integrate climate change education into any subject area and grade level.

This session will highlight our earthday teacher guides, specially crafted to help educators celebrate Earth Month with ready-to-use materials. Participants will receive a tour of these guides and other climate-related resources, offering a firsthand look at innovative content designed to engage students and foster interdisciplinary learning around environmental topics.

Throughout the presentation, educators will gain practical insights into adapting these resources to fit the unique needs of their classrooms at both the local and global level. We will share strategies to integrate climate change topics into existing curricula while reducing the preparation burden on educators. Our focus is on empowering teachers to promote environmental awareness and sustainability principles in their lessons—making it easier than ever to inspire action and curiosity among students.

Polls, an interactive planning activity, and discussion questions in the chat will allow attendees to ask questions, explore resources, and personalize their learning experience.

Participants will leave the session with a curated toolkit of free, practical resources ready for immediate use.

Let’s come together to celebrate Earth Month by equipping educators with the strategies and tools they need to bring climate change education to life in their classrooms.

K-5 Education Specialist, SubjectToClimate

I am the K-5 Education Specialist at SubjectToClimate. Our mission is to make climate change teaching and learning accessible to all. I joined SubjectToClimate after teaching for 15 years in grades K-8, both as a general education teacher and as a specialist in English Language Development. I used interdisciplinary connections to link language learning to science content and vocabulary. Hands-on learning and collaborative work were key tenets of my teaching philosophy to increase accessibility of the content. Both are important for students to use new language learning, as well as to understand scientific concepts with their own 'funds of knowledge' and cultural perspective. Our teacher-created lessons and units at SubjectToClimate hold these same tenets to reach our mission, in addition to focusing on students' social and emotional learning, teaching students to problem-solve, work as a team and advocate for themselves and others.
