About This Webinar

Join Peggy Brookins, NBCT President and CEO of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and Share My Lesson for an engaging discussion about finding a variety of resources for authentic and engaging STEM lessons, based on Thematic Learning Activities (TLA). The TLA presented in this workshop will give participants insights into creating and spiraling these lessons. Attendees will also take away opportunities for students to use their skills and intellect to bring together different pieces of evidence, do research, and explore their future career interests.

Now Available On Demand. Original Air Date: March 25, 2020.

This standards-aligned TLA includes lesson plans and hands-on classroom activities. This rich content will be applicable to participants’ classroom and features resources for creating a full TLA unit. We will explore a TLA creation in detail, and participants will be exposed to teaching strategies to support implementation in the classroom. This TLA unit is a series of lessons that integrate subjects across the curriculum, such as math, reading, social studies, science, language arts, etc. that all tie into the central theme of the unit.
