About This Webinar

Join Facing History and Ourselves and Share My Lesson to explore how educators can support students as changemakers today.

One year ago, the March for Our Lives reminded us of the power of student protesta right established fifty years ago in the landmark Supreme Court decision Tinker v. DesMoines.

Join Facing History and Ourselves to explore how educators can support students as changemakers today. This webinar will feature a conversation with activist Mary Beth Tinker, insights from educators and a new teaching unit designed to promote civic skills in your students.

Professional Credit

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

Share My Lesson is now a New York State Education Department-approved provider for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) requirements and an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approved Professional Development provider.

Having a primary source speak

Having a primary source speak tonight was very valuable - as a retired teacher and a current Museum Educator, I know the value of real voices including our own in making a difference in the lives of our young people and in making a difference and reinforcing mine.

Enjoyed hearing Ms. Tinker

Enjoyed hearing Ms. Tinker talk of her past - before her historic Supreme Court case. It was interesting to hear what led her to be an advocate for the rights of those she felt were denied equal access.
