About This Webinar

Young multilingual learners (MLs) comprise a large and growing proportion of children in early learning and care settings. Children have the capacity to acquire more than one language, and multilingualism has academic and cognitive benefits (NASEM, 2017). Greater understanding is needed, however, in the ways early learning and care providers can best support young MLs’ language development.

This session will provide an overview of key evidence-based practices for supporting MLs from PreK through 3rd grade, drawing from the resources and strategies presented in the online platform Multilingual Learning Toolkit.

We will highlight a case study of Michigan’s efforts to provide online tools and professional learning on the evidence based practices for young MLs.

This webinar is part of Share My Lesson's 2025 Virtual Conference! View all sessions here.
