About This Webinar

Join ConSource and Share My Lesson for a webinar on using primary source documents to teach the Constitution.

ConSource is building the preeminent online resource for constitutional research and education. Continually expanding in scope, it provides free public access to what is fast becoming the world's most comprehensive online library of source documents related to the U.S. Constitution.

But ConSource is not stopping there. It is not enough to merely provide access to source documents. It is also necessary to provide the right tools to navigate the pages of history. To this end, the ConSource library includes a vibrant and growing cross-reference database, known as our Constitutional Index that allows users to explore historical documents related to each provision of the United States Constitution, Bill of Rights and subsequent amendments.

During this presentation we will demonstrate how our Constitutional Index is an excellent tool for educators who want to use primary source documents when teaching about particular constitutional topics, like the judicial branch. Our Constitutional Index will direct you to a range of historical documents - from Constitutional Convention notes from the dates in 1787 when judicial powers were discussed to Federalist and Anti-Federalist essays on the topic to related materials from the state ratifying conventions and much more.

Professional Credit

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

Share My Lesson is now a New York State Education Department-approved provider for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) requirements and an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approved Professional Development provider.
