About This Webinar

Wellness isn't a buzzword—it’s essential to how we live, work, and show up every day.

But for too many educators, healthcare workers, and public employees, wellness often takes a back seat to burnout, stress and systems that don’t support balance.

Join AFT President Randi Weingarten, Dr. Vin Gupta, and Manatt Health National Advisor, Dr. Mandy Cohen, for a timely Vital Lessons town hall focused on what wellness really means in today’s world—and how we can all better care for our physical, mental and emotional health as well as prevention and longevity.

We’ll explore:

  • The science behind stress, burnout and recovery.
  • What public health leaders are learning about wellness after the pandemic.
  • How to build sustainable routines for health, rest and resilience.
  • What schools, workplaces and communities can do to better support wellness.

This town hall is part of “Vital Lessons: Health Chats with Dr. Vin Gupta,” a yearlong series providing timely, science-based health insights for our communities.

Her tenure focused on embedding lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and investing in core public health capabilities, including the work force, laboratories, data systems and rapid response. Dr. Cohen also led the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services for Governor Roy Cooper and transformed the North Carolina Medicaid program to managed care with a focus on value and “whole person health”, launching the country’s first statewide platform integrating social services with healthcare delivery. She has held notable leadership positions at CMS, including chief operating officer and chief of staff, and was also executive vice president at Aledade, supporting independent primary care practices, health centers and clinics to deliver better care to their patients and thrive in value-based care.
