About This Lesson

A few years ago I wrote a set of notes for students and put them on my website. The notes were supposed to be written in a “student-friendly” way, and different to notes students might find in textbooks or elsewhere on the internet. I have converted the notes to PowerPoint slides so you can download them, adapt them if needed, use them in revision lessons or perhaps give your students a set to take home with them to help them prepare for exams. The chances are there will be a few mistakes here and there, so if you spot any please email me & I will correct them. CCSS: 8.SP.2

Know that straight lines are widely used to model relationships between two quantitative variables. For scatter plots that suggest a linear association, informally fit a straight line, and informally assess the model fit by judging the closeness of the data points to the line.

Really useful revision notes on scatter diagrams. Best used as a handout for students as there is a lot of text on each slide of the presentation.

Nice resource to use as an introduction or review on scatter plots.
