About This Lesson

This is the seventh lesson of an 8 part kindergarten geometry unit titled, "I Spy Shapes." In this lesson, students will practice what they've previously learned regarding shapes by designing their own room/space. **This unit contains worksheets and images that you can pick and choose which you would like to use. These can be found under the following titles: "I Spy unit Worksheets pt. 1," "I Spy unit Worksheets pt. 2" and "I Spy Shape Patterns."<br />Aligned to Common Core State Standards: K.G.1, K.G.3, K.G.5

Standards

Describe objects in the environment using names of shapes, and describe the relative positions of these objects using terms such as above, below, beside, in front of, behind, and next to.
Identify shapes as two-dimensional (lying in a plane, “flat”) or three-dimensional (“solid”).
Model shapes in the world by building shapes from components (e.g., sticks and clay balls) and drawing shapes.
