The Count of Monte Cristo serves as the touchstone for exploring personal choice and the cost of those choices. Themes of Justice,revenge, attitude and other themes are explored. The students will explore and develop these issues through the use of evidence-based claims and close reading. The students will cite examples and quotations from the text. The unit emphasizes partner and small group work. For remediation - plot and plot line elements included.
You may use the Evidence-Based Claims forms. They come in several iterations. They are in the rubric and form folder. Or you can download the original EBC form from EngageNY (https://www.engageny.org/file/89826/download/forming-ebc.pdf).
