About This Lesson

This set includes 1 digit by 2 digit problems that lend themselves to area models. This connects strongly to MP 4 (Modeling), MP 6 (Precision), MP 7 (Structure) and 4.NBT.5 Key vocabulary and properties will be a focus, so it will be important to prepare sentence strips with the words: product, factor, decompose, recompose, and distributive property. There are several student sheets, a student exemplar and teacher notes included.
