About This Lesson

Partner Retell: Students will be given an article to read about creditors and lending. Students will then be placed in pairs to work on their Active Listening Skills, as well as improve their SEL competencies in collaboration and group participation.  In this activity, one student is assigned the role of “re-teller” and the other assigned the role of “listener”. The reteller talks about the main idea(s), concepts, and points of the reading while the other student listens, comments, and ask questions. Then, the teacher randomly calls one of the listeners to share information told by the reteller.  Students will be given an Active Listening Rubric to score their active listening skills.  The culminating activity will be for student pairs to create at least 3 slogans for a campaign encouraging consumers to be responsible borrowers.
